Regarded as one of the finest Tudor houses in Wales, the castle was formerly the ancestral home of the powerful Wynn family.

By 1994, the house and garden and fallen into dereliction. Its restoration has taken over twenty years to complete and is still a work-in-progress by its current owners. By becoming a Friend of Gwydir your generous support will

ensure the house continues to undergo a planned restoration and preservation programme
help preserve the artworks and collections held within
help preserve and develop the grounds and garden
further assist in the ongoing development of a natural wildlife habitat

You will help ensure that Gwydir Castle remains open for future generations so they may too discover this wonderfully evocative Tudor house and garden
